  • Post on Water:-

India is known all over the world for its largest Postal Network, with about 1,55,000 post offices. But this was not enough and India took it to the next level by making a ‘Floating Post Office’ situated at the Dal Lake in Srinagar.

  • Love For Rains:-

Mawsynram is a village on the Khasi Hills in Meghalaya and is the wettest inhabited place in the entire world. This area receives the highest recorded average rainfall, and yet people have made this place their home.

Kabaddi is a true Indian sport and this is the reason why the Indian National Kabaddi Team has managed to win all the Kabaddi World Cups held till now. And not just the Men’s team, even the women’s team has won them all.

  • Cricket on the Top:-

Situated in Himachal Pradesh, the Chail Cricket Ground in Chail is the highest cricket ground in the world, at an altitude of 2,444 meters. It dates back to 1893 and is the ground for Chail Military School.

  • Swiss Science Day’s Indian Connection:-

The Science Day celebrated in Switzerland began with the arrival of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, in 2006. Switzerland was so inspired by the Former Indian President, that they declared May 26th, the day of his arrival, as Science Day.

  • Almost German Dhyan Chand

When Major Dhyan Chand and the team defeated Germany in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, he was invited by Hitler, who offered Chand a German Citizenship, an opportunity to play for the German team, and an esteemed post in German Military. However, Dhyan Chand politely declined the offer.

  • Shines Bright Like Diamonds:-

The initial mining of the precious stones, Diamonds, was first done in India. They were found in the Guntur and Krishna District of Krishna River Delta, in its alluvial deposits. And till the 18th century, India provided the world with the diamonds.

  • Snakes and Ladders:-

The board game of Snakes and Ladders, earlier known as Moksha Patamu, was invented in India. This game was used as a metaphor to teach the children about the concept of karma.

  • The Village Without Doors:-

A village in Maharashtra, called Shani Shingnapur, is an incredible and religious village, where people do not use doors in their homes or shops, not even the main doors. They believe that no bad deed can happen in this place of God, and have faith in the power of the Almighty.

  • Rocket on Cycle:-

The first rocket of India was developed by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), in collaboration with some other research organization. And this rocket was transported from one center to another on a cycle.

  • Peace is the Mantra:-

In the many many centuries of its existence, India has never invaded any other country for its own benefit. In fact, India is deemed to be one of the most peaceful countries.

  • Land of Vegetarians:-

Around 40% of the population in this country has adopted Vegetarianism, due to religious or personal reasons, hence making it the largest Vegetarian country.
