Katrina Kaif is an Indian actress of British- Indian descent and is one of the top Bollywood actresses. Being a foreigner, she had to struggle quite a lot to secure a place in Bollywood, and moreover, she did not speak Hindi fluently, which was yet another barrier for her. However, she worked extremely hard and adopted the Indian mannerisms along with improving her Hindi, and now she can easily speak the language, all became possible because of her hard work. Her debut movie was a multi-starrer crime thriller ‘Boom’. After getting recognition and success, she got an opportunity to work with several top actors such as Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. Interesting thing is that she still does not have a house of her own in India, and is working in India on a visa. But her work and commitment have made her no lesser than an Indian and a true Bollywood talent.

Her birth name is Katrina Turquotte and she was born on July 16, 1983, in Hong Kong to Suzanne Turquotte, a British Lawyer, and Mohammed Kaif, a British-Indian Businessman. However, her father left the family and move to the USA, and she was raised by a single mother, alongside seven siblings. As a child, she had to move a lot because of her mother’s work, and she has lived in places like Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Poland, Hawaii, and finally settled in London.
At the age of 17, Kaif won a beauty pageant held in Hawaii and that is how her journey in the glamour world began. Later, she was a part of the London Fashion Week as well, and there, London-based filmmaker, Kaizad Gustad, spotted her and offered a role in Boom. In 2003, she was a part of the Indian Fashion Week and was also featured in the Kingfisher Calendar.
In 2004, she also did a Telugu movie, and simultaneously refined her Hindi, after which she bagged a short role in the movie ‘Sarkar’.
The movie which gave her recognition was David Dhawan’s ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’. After this movie, she appeared in several movies alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar and her fan base started to widen.
In the year 2007, she got four blockbusters, through which she earned a rigid spot in the Bollywood industry. Movies like ‘Race’ and ‘Singh is King’ also helped her a lot in terms of career growth and her graph seem to get higher movie by movie. However, she was criticised for doing similar roles in all her movies.
In order to counter this criticism, she began taking different roles like in the movie ‘New York’, directed by Kabir Khan. The movie was a success and Kaif was praised for her strong performance.
Later on, she did several comedies in 2009, alongside actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Akshay Kumar.
Another turning point came in 2010 when the superhit political thriller ‘Raajneeti’ was released, featuring an ensemble cast, and Kaif’s performance was yet again enormously praised.
2011 and 2012 were quite successful for her as well with movies like ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, which she did alongside Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan respectively.
Her ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ with Shah Rukh Khan, and ‘Dhoom 3’ with Aamir Khan were quite successful on the box office as well. Later, she once again was paired with Hrithik Roshan for the movie ‘Bang Bang’.
SInce 2015, she has worked with Saif Ali Khan in ‘Phantom’, Siddharth Malhotra in ‘Baar Baar Dekho’, Aditya Roy Kapoor in ‘Fitoor’, and once again with Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan in ‘Jagga Jasoos’ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ respectively.
- Love Life:-
As per some sources, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan dated for a considerable period of time between 2003 and 2010. Later, she got close with Ranbir Kapoor, hence starting a new relationship. Although they denied any such news, their vacation pictures taken by paparazzi generated a lot of buzzes.
In 2016, there was again news of Katrina Kaif rekindling her relations with Salman Khan, however, nothing is concrete and she denies all such things.

Katrina Kaif has 35 awards to her name, which consist of 1 IIFA Award, 3 Stardust Awards, 3 Zee Cine Awards, and 2 Screen Awards. Also, she was named as the ‘World’s Sexiest Woman’ by FHM Magazine a number of times, and in 2011, People Magazine named her the ‘Most Beautiful Woman’.
